I want to wake up to a virus free world,
Where visiting the sick is a gesture normal.
Where schools stay open and so does the park.
Where hugs and handshakes are no more so dark.
I want the streets to be brimming with life,
I want the woe to no longer thrive.
When children visit their grandparents again,
When kisses from loved ones are no more a bane.
A world where friends plan to hang out often,
A world where events are not forbidden.
The long gone husband gets back to his spouse,
The stranded forlorns come back to their house.
The waiting mother reconciles with her son,
Let the world be blessed, the ailment be gone.
Where the dying can hold some bereaving hands,
And lifeless bodies aren’t dumped on barren lands.
Where last rites are performed with respect and care
Where the dying can hold some bereaving hands,
And lifeless bodies aren’t dumped on barren lands.
Where last rites are performed with respect and care
May blissful smiles be a sight everywhere..
I want to wake up to a world full of peace.
I want to wake up and again feel the ease.
I want to wake up and see the world has healed.
May health be for all, may futures be sealed.
Amen.
